Samsung Moment Android Review
The overall design of the Moment does not allow it to stand out from Samsung's other mobile phones however, the smooth lines do give it a bit of appeal.
It is a large, heavy phone, coming in at over 5 ounces and measuring over 4.5 by 2.3 by .6 inches. The size may make it unhandy for a tighter pocket although the sturdiness more than makes up for the bulkier size.
The AMOLED display measures 3.2 inches, smaller than the iPhone yet large enough for easy navigation. The display supports 16 million hues and a resolution of 480x320. You can change the brightness, backlight, and wallpaper. You can also turn on or off the accelerometer so the display does not flip when the phone turns.
The Moment features the 3 familiar Android touch controls below the screen, Home, Menu, and Back Button. It also has a physical Talk, End/Power, and OK button directly below the Android buttons.
Samsung also included a volume rocker, camera shutter and a voice dialing button on the spine of the phone. It also features a Micro-Usb Port along with a standard charge port and 3.5 mm headset jack on the top side. The Microsd Card slot is behind the battery like many of the newer phones hitting the market.
It offers a spacious keyboard with comfortable buttons. With its 4 rows of buttons there is enough room for dedicated number keys. It also offers a centered spacebar, a back button along with a return and function key.
The Moment also supplies the basic features like a speakerphone, vibrate mode, a calculator, and an alarm clock. It also offers 802.11b Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Google Maps for real time driving directions.
With its $180.00 price range, the Samsung Moment is sure to please many Sprint network users who want an Android phone.
