Samsung Fascinate - An Android Phone Available on Verizon Wireless
Samsung is flooding the US market with Android phones these days. One of them is the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon Wireless. The phone is powered by a ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and runs on Google's Android operating system version 2.1 (Eclair). Verizon is also offering an update to Android version 2.2.
Samsung Fascinate is a CDMA phone and supports dual band CDMA 800 / 1900 2G networks and CDMA 2000 1xEV-DO band 3G network. The handset measures 125 mm in height, 64 mm in width and its thickness is 10.5 mm. It weighs 116 grams which makes the phone quite compact and easy to carry. At the front of the phone, you'll find a 4.0 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display which has a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and supports 16 million colors. It is made up of scratch and damage resistant Gorilla glass which is environmentally friendly. Like other smartphones from Samsung, the Fascinate also features Samsung's TouchWiz user interface which looks beautiful and is very easy to use. Some of the other features include accelerometer sensor for user interface auto-rotate, proximity sensor for UI auto-rotate, multi-touch support and touch-sensitive controls.
The cell phone offers 2 GB internal user available storage. A memory card slot which supports Microsd Card up to 32 GB is also provided. Users can store practically unlimited entries and call records with this kind of storage. Different ringtones can also be set for each entry in the phonebook. Data connectivity options include Rev. A with speeds up to 3.1 Mbps, Wi-fi, Bluetooth version 3.0 with A2DP and microUSB version 2.0. A high resolution 5 megapixel camera allows you to take excellent quality images of up to 2592 X 1944 pixels. Video recording of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second is also supported. other features of the camera include autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, etc.
Samsung Fascinate offers some of the best features one would like to have in a smartphone. It has a music player which supports MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC files and video player which supports MP4/DivX/WMV/H.264/H.263 to keep you entertained no matter where you are. A TV-out slot allows you to watch videos from your phone on your television. Users can stay connected with their friends through the social networking applications for websites like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace. Other applications include Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, document editor, image/video editor, organizer and much more.
